Better Relationship Between People and Dogs

In the many years that we have been training dogs, we’ve found that nowadays there are 2 major issues that determine if the dog will be a lifelong family member.
Issue #1: Lack of proper socialization. We’ve found many puppies are not properly socialized to other dogs and/or people which can turn into behavioral issues as the dog matures. Many rescue dogs lack proper social skills that also lead into behavioral issues.
Issue #2: Lack of time. Families just don’t have the time that is required to fully train a dog. We’ve had thousands of people sign up for training classes with the best intentions, but only about 25% fully complete a training program with their dogs. After much thought and consideration, we at Clever K9s have put together a training program that we feel will work best for the dogs and their owners. We’ve combined the most important elements into a fully integrated training program that meets the needs of the dog and the humans in the family. All owners are required to attend a Free Intro to Dog Training class while their dog is participating in Good Dog Camp.
We are offering 3 camp levels, you choose which best fits your needs and budget (payment plans available).

Description of Services
DayTrain – Your dog will have a full structured day of activities. Part of the day will be socializing with other dogs in the daycare setting. Your dog will be integrated into a group of compatible playmates to learn proper social and play skills. There will be 2-3 “train” sessions where your dog will work one-on-one with a trainer. Skills trained include: Attention to name, Sit/default sit, Down-stay, Come, Wait at doorways, impulse control, crate training, self-confidence exercises, and foundation skills for leash walking. Other skills may be integrated depending on individual dog needs. DayTrain days are offered Mon-Friday during our normal daycare hours 6am-6:30pm. Dog must attend a minimum 7 hours during the day to receive all of his training.
Private Lesson – during this time the trainer will go through all of the skills that your dog has been trained during his DayTrain time. The trainer will show you how to continue working on those skills at home, and also help problem solve any other issues. This lesson is held after your dog has attended a minimum of 5 DayTrain days.
Home Consult – the trainer will come to your home to review the skills your dog has learned in DayTrain days. The trainer will also help you problem solve issues that are arising at home such as: crate training, door manners, yard manners, housetraining, multiple dog management etc. The Home Consult can be done at anytime during the dog’s camp attendance. Note: any severe behavioral issues will be referred to an animal behaviorist.
Refresher Days - You can bring your dog back to us for a refresher any time after you have finished your Good Dog Camp Day Passes. We will be happy to work with your dog just to refresh everything he or she learned previously or we can work on any new issues that may have arisen. Just call ahead to make a reservation for your refresher day during the day care week.
