Intro to Dog Training Class.
These are our new class descriptions effective May 5, 2008

Puppy Playtime (2-5 months)
This is an open playtime for puppies in the puppy play area, and is available 15
minutes prior to Puppy Power class starting.  Owners are responsible for their own
dogs during this time and monitoring the play activity.

Puppy Power  (2-5 months)  (formally Polite Puppy & Puppy Agility)
Every puppy needs a great start, and this is the class to get it.  Everything is geared
toward building a great relationship between the owners and the pup.  We work on
basic manners, socialization, and handling in a fun, relaxed atmosphere.  Puppy agility
is integrated into classes to allow pups to develop coordination and confidence, and
problems are discussed, such as house-breaking, jumping, etc.

Teenage Pups (5 months-1 yr)
For dogs hitting that fun adolescent period in their lives, we will be working on refining
their manners, continue to work on their socialization skills and use the dog agility
equipment to help gain confidence and self-control.

Dog Manners 1  (1 yr & up)  (formally Level 1)
For dogs needing a refresher on basic obedience skills, or dogs graduating from
Teenage Pups.    This class includes basic obedience skills, adding in distractions,
socialization to people & dogs and confidence building exercises.  New skills are also
introduced, such as retrieving, flyball, tracking & carting.

Dog Manners 2 (1 yr & up) (formally Level 2)
A continuation of Dog Manners 1, working on proofing behaviors  by increasing
distractions.  Skills needed to take the AKC Canine Good Citizens test are included,
plus lots of fun & games to challenge the dogs.

Top Dogs (formally CGC, Level 3 & 4)
This class is for graduates of the Dog Manners 2 class.  Formal obedience exercises
are introduced, along with beginner rally obedience skills.   Canine Good Citizen
preparation & testing are done at this level.

Play, Control & Focus (for all age dogs)
This is a required class for people interested in agility classes, and highly
recommended to every dog owner, especially for high energy dogs.  This class will give
you the tools you need to teach impulse control, attention, focus and proper play skills.
Crate games, tugging, retrieving, using the clicker, and agility foundation skills will be
used.

Intro to Agility  (formally Agility Level 1) (for dogs over 6 months of age)
Prerequisite:  Play, Control & Focus class.  An introduction to the sport of dog agility,
including floor foundation work, introduce equipment and beginning handling skills.

Intermediate Agility  (formally Agility Level 2)
For dogs that have mastered the basics on all of the agility equipment and need to
progress up to competition heights and begin simple course work.

Full Blown Agility (formally Agility Level 3)
For dogs that are up to full height agility equipment and mastering longer course work
sequences.

Competition Agility
This class is a preparation class for people interested in competing in the sport dog
agility.

Advanced Agility
For dogs at a competitive level, advanced course work and continuation of foundation
skills will be covered.

Kids Class (for kids 3 & up.  Dogs: any age)
Give your kids a chance to have a class all to themselves!  Obedience, agility, trick
training and games will be covered in a fun, easy to understand manner.  The most
important goal is for the dog to respect the child as a leader and will follow his/her
direction.

Rally Obedience
Prerequisite:  Dog Manners 1 or Teenage Pups.    This fast-growing sport combines
formal obedience with agility.  It requires the handler to heel their dog through a
course, completing instructional signs along the course.

Therapy Dog
Interested in having your dog certified as a Therapy Dog?   We run classes in 4 week
sessions that prepare you for certification.   Our instructor tests  through Therapy Dog
Inc. at Appleton Medical Center.

over 30 years of experience with a large variety of breeds and can offer a wealth of
information to help get you started!
